The desktop model VLS 2.30DT is the smallest system manufactured by Universal. Designed as an entry level machine, the 2.30DT is a great choice for start up businesses or for a second machine to handle high production. With a marking area of 16″ x 12″ and a Z-axis of 4″, the 2.30DT accepts three available laser cartridges ranging from 10-30 watts.

Universal designed the desktop series with the same quality components to give you the reliability and long life of the larger platform series. Air assist comes standard with the desktop series with the exception of the cone/valve assembly. Like the larger platform series, the desktops include the same Laser Interface+ software as well as tempered glass tops, fire alarm, and USB interface. There are a variety or other options available such as the Downdraft Cutting Table, HPDFO, and Rotary Fixture.

Since 1998 Universal has been manufacturing their own patented CO2 laser cartridges. These RF metal lasers are air cooled and range from 10-75 Watts. Read more about Universal’s CO2 laser cartridges and other types available.
Patented by Universal, these unique optics allow the laser beam to be focused to a much smaller spot size, roducing sharper images at tighter tolerances. It also gives you the ability for direct marking on certain metals.
